Australian Win Top Awards at EOS Hackathon Sydney as over 200

SmartPress, Australian based project ranked first as its application enable its customers to form smart links with minimum coding. The official announcement made by EOSIO blockchain protocol unveiled that during EOS Global Hackathon in Australia at ICC Sydney, the Australian team showed their efforts by dragging first three prizes and rewarded with around US$120,000 by the EOS VC.

The competition was among 200 international applicants consisting of around 50 teams. The competition was evaluated by some eminent personalities including a panel of judges, representatives of blockchain and global technology.

The event held at Sydney has a theme of Hack Outback and the participant was given the challenge to develop a DAPP on the EOSIO platform intending the public and the user to contribute their role for protecting the environment for future generation.

Well, the sources confirmed that 1st prize was given to SmatPress an Australian project and rewarded with US$100,000. They designed a web application on EOSIO platform with the aim to deploy smart contacts with limited coding for the existing as well as for the newcomer.

The project was exclusively designed for the Australian and also for those applicants who possess little technical and coding knowledge. The team successfully elaborated the way to use this application via an environmental boundary mapping tool.

Lachlan Greenbank, one of the members of the SmartPress stated that EOSIO hackathon provided extremely good mentors that guided us and also this platform give chance to develop the solutions. This type of event with such an amazing mentor is beneficial for both Australian as well as for the blockchain community. They further mentioned that they are blessed to be the part of such fine engagements.

Talking about second prize it was rewarded to GreenKeep, a web application developed by Australian based on preventing the wastage of food exclusively via supply chain management.

Australian Team TokenTree was rewarded with the third prize, their app was designed to encourage the millennials in order to protect the trees and nurture them. Their projects also encouraged to fight against deforestation in Australia by planting more trees and reforming the tree lifecycle.

In addition, an Australian team was also awarded the best team for their incredible work done to protect the endangered species.

The Block.one Group President Rob Jesudason stated that:
“Australia deserves to be the best because of its technology hub and the country with an amazing eco-friendly environment, it is a perfect combination to win the reward of hackathon with the aim to protect the environment for future generation. Nevertheless, blockchain technology has proved to be best amongst the corporate world and its boundaries are not just limited to businesses. This event proves to be beneficial for our environment and the society as a whole.”

Apart from this Block.one’s EOS VC also introduced its new development worth US$1 million titled ‘Hack.Pitch.Launch’, this will help to initiate fund at Sydney hackathon. The launch will enable the EOS Global Hackathon events to furnish their developed DAPPs to EOS VC in order to get an opportunity to introduce their developed ideas with an investment of US$50,000. At least five teams will get this opportunity.

The Sydney event was regarded as the second-best series among five events held across the world in this year. The total amount as the reward was US$1.5 million by the EOS VC. The sources have confirmed that the first event was successfully organized in Hong Kong in June and almost 17 countries showed their interest with 350 applications.

The every hackathon event organized is facilitated with unique themes to design a ‘hack’ in order to develop a DAPPs. The three top winners will face Grand Finale Competition by the end of this year.
