Changpeng “CZ” Zhao Joins Pakistan Crypto Council as Strategic Advisor

In a groundbreaking development for Pakistan’s growing digital economy, Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, co-founder and former CEO of Binance, has been officially appointed as the Strategic Advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC). The announcement was made during a high-profile meeting held on Monday, attended by some of the most influential figures in Pakistan’s financial and regulatory landscape.

A Landmark Announcement

The meeting, which marked a milestone for Pakistan’s digital future, was attended by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, and Federal Secretaries for Law and Information Technology. The appointment of CZ signals Pakistan’s serious commitment to embracing blockchain technology, Web3 innovation, and the digital finance revolution.

During his visit, CZ also held separate meetings with the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan, further underlining the significance of this strategic collaboration.

Pakistan Opens Doors to Innovation

Commenting on the appointment, Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, who also serves as Chairman of the PCC, called it a “landmark moment” for Pakistan. He stated:

“We are sending a clear message to the world: Pakistan is open for innovation. With CZ onboard, we are accelerating our vision to make Pakistan a regional powerhouse for Web3, digital finance, and blockchain-driven growth.”

The Vision for a Digital Future

Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council, also expressed optimism about CZ’s role in shaping Pakistan’s crypto ecosystem. He remarked:

“Pakistan is opening its doors to the future of finance. And who better to guide us on this journey than CZ — a pioneer who built the world’s largest crypto exchange and changed the way billions think about financial freedom.”

CZ Sees Limitless Potential in Pakistan

CZ himself was equally enthusiastic about the new role and the opportunities ahead. Speaking at the event, he highlighted Pakistan’s demographics as a key advantage for building a future-ready digital economy:

“Pakistan is a country of 240 million people, over 60% of whom are under the age of 30. The potential here is limitless.”

A New Chapter for Pakistan’s Digital Economy

CZ’s appointment as Strategic Advisor to the PCC marks a significant turning point for Pakistan’s ambitions in the global digital economy. With a focus on blockchain technology, Web3 innovation, and financial inclusion, Pakistan is positioning itself as a forward-looking nation ready to harness the potential of its youthful population and embrace the future of finance.

This collaboration between CZ and Pakistan could pave the way for new opportunities, foreign investments, and a robust regulatory framework that balances innovation with consumer protection — setting a bold precedent for other emerging markets across the region.
