OKEx Crypto Exchange Announces the Suspension of Cryptocurrencies Withdrawals

OKEx, a Malta-based crypto exchange declares the suspension of digital assets for a certain time due to some issues. Let’s find out the reason behind the same. Soon after this news, the price of Bitcoin falls around 3% within 30 minutes.

As per the report, OKEx states at present one of their private key owner is coordinating with the public security bureau in investigation matters where needed.

With regard to the 8.1 service change and due to interruption of the Terms of Service, OKEx may terminate, suspend, or terminate the service at any time without any earlier notice as the authorization of the transaction cannot be completed.

In order to get rid of any confusion and for the interest of customers the team announced to terminate the service for the withdrawal of digital assets/cryptocurrencies from 16 October 2020 at 11:00 (Hong Kong Time).

In addition, OKEx assures that “We assure that OKEx’s other functions remain normal and stable and the security of your assets at OKEx will not affected.”

The OKEx apologizes for the inconvenience caused due to the suspension of the digital currency withdrawals. However, the team claims to make the update if any change occurs. The withdrawal will be resumed once the concerned key private holder commences the authorization of the transactions.
